I’m allergic to dogs but I have four. Three of them have to live outside in order to prevent their allergens from getting all over the house, but I have on hypoallergenic dog who lives inside. His name is Mac and he’s a tiny Bichon Frise, and he’s one of my best buddies.

Sometimes I wonder if the other dogs hate Mac because he gets to live inside and gets a lot more attention. He gets bullied when he goes outside to pee, but I’m not sure if tis because he small or if the other dogs are jealous. Maybe the other dogs are actually upset that Mac he gets to live a posh life inside of the house and they resent him for that.

There will never be a room as special to me as Room 208, the suite in my fraternity house where my four best friends live. I live a few rooms down, but I only use my room to sleep. When I’m at the house, most of my time is spent in Room 208.

It’s where we play video games together and study together. Where we apply to jobs and internships and prepare for interviews. Where we drink and do drugs together. It’s the room where talk about our lives and feelings and issues and losses and victories. It’s where we roast each other and build each other up and talk about our dreams. It’s where we bring girls and where we fight. It’s where we laugh and cry.

When I think back to my sophomore year of college, I’ll think about room 208, as the tiny 15×15 square foot room defined my experience, and the events that have taken place within it’s walls have changed the course of my life.

I have a long-distance girlfriend who goes to school in California. I’m always really happy when I go to visit her and have a great time, so I constantly find myself wishing that I went to school in California rather than Texas. Still, I’m not entirely sure whether it’s California that I like so much, or if the associated happiness comes from being there with my girlfriend.

My dad is originally from New York so he’s a huge NY Giants fan. As a result, growing up I was a Giants fan as well. I first started following football when Eli Manning was a rookie. I’ve just came to realize that Eli Manning has been playing for nearly my whole life, and within the next two years he’ll be retired. That thought struck me in my feelings, because when he’s gone it will be like an era of my own life has ended.

I used to play football and wrestle in high school. I was okay at both sports, but I never stood out. I was fairly weak and small, but what carried me through were my instincts, agility and technical abilities. I just started lifting last semester, and I’ve already gotten a lot bigger and stronger. So, I realized that if I were to have done that starting at like 15 or 16, I could’ve been a lot better at sports.

Today, I was listening to my hip-hop playlist on Spotify, and I realized that I’m still mostly listening to the same songs that I was in high school. For some reason, I’m not a huge fan of the hip-hop music that’s been coming out today. Maybe there’s something wrong with the music that’s being produced today, or maybe I’m getting old and my tastes have stagnated.
